Sales Goal Calculator for Digital Products (Free)
Have a revenue goal for a template, ebook, course or other download? Enter the goal, your price and a conversion rate to see how many sales you need, how many sales-page visitors that takes, and what it means per day. It counts Stripe's fee and a refund allowance, so the number is what you'd actually keep. It's arithmetic, not a forecast: use it to see whether your plan needs a higher price, more traffic, or a better sales page.
Turning the number into a plan? The 30-Day Revenue Operator Pack has a 42-page playbook plus 16 templates and trackers: a day-by-day launch tracker, a funnel tracker that shows which stage is leaking, pricing and sales page worksheets. $17 founding price until Nov 1, then $27, instant download, 14-day refund.

How to use the number
- If the visitors-per-day number is far above what you get today, the plan has a traffic problem before it has a product problem. Pick one or two channels where your buyers already look, and see our guide to selling without an audience.
- If visitors arrive but nobody buys, your conversion rate is the lever. Check the offer, the preview and the checkout in how to write a sales page, and run your headline through the headline generator.
- If the sales count looks impossible at your price, test a higher price or a premium tier. The price calculator and the Stripe fee calculator show what you keep at each price.
The full walkthrough, with a table of visitors needed at different prices, is in how much traffic you need to make a sale.
Our own numbers
We use this same math on our own product: a $17 founding price on a fresh site with no audience. So far the hard part has been getting the right visitors, not the arithmetic. Our itemized setup cost is in what it costs to start selling digital products.
FAQ
How many sales do I need to make $1,000 with a digital product?
Divide $1,000 by what you keep per sale. At $17 on Stripe's US standard rates you keep about $16.21, so you need 62 sales; at $27 you keep about $25.92, so 39 sales; at $47 (about $45.34 kept), 23 sales. Refunds push the number up a little.
How many visitors do I need to get one sale?
It depends on your conversion rate: the share of sales-page visitors who buy. At 1% you need about 100 visitors per sale, at 2% about 50, at 0.5% about 200. Use your own numbers once you have them. The calculator shows a range so you can see how much it matters.
What conversion rate should I assume?
Your own, measured: sales divided by unique sales-page visitors over the same period. Before you have data, run the calculator at a few rates (say 0.5%, 1% and 2%) and plan for the low one. We'd rather you use your own number than an industry average.
Is it better to raise the price or get more traffic?
Raising the price lowers the number of sales you need, often faster than traffic grows, but it can also lower your conversion rate. Change one thing at a time and measure for at least a week. Our price calculator helps you pick a starting price.
Does this calculator promise I'll hit my goal?
No. It only does the arithmetic of price, fees, refunds and conversion rate. Whether people buy depends on the product, the offer and whether the right buyers see it. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
Not sure anyone will pay for your idea? Test it before you build it.
Most first products stall because they get built before anyone checks that buyers exist. The free starter guide gives you the checks to run first:
- The 6-question "is it payable?" test to score your idea in 10 minutes
- Five example products with a specific buyer and a reason they'd pay
- A one-page launch checklist you can print
You're in. Your guide is ready.
